Kathy Rinearson, an award winning artist has been professionally painting for the last 10 years. After receiving her Bachelors’ Degree in Art Education from Manchester University, Kathy went on and earned her Masters in Art Education from the University of Saint Francis. She taught elementary art for the next 35 years. During those years, Kathy served as adjunct professor at Manchester University, training student teachers going into the field of art education. She has also authored curriculums and published articles for periodicals. Kathy has recently illustrated her first children’s book.
Kathy has spent the last 24 years being part of the Valley Art Community. She has been the “Artist in Residence” at the South Padre Island Convention Centre, with many of her original works on display. Kathy has artwork hanging in private collections and galleries across the United States and abroad. She paints with watercolors, acrylics and oils. Kathy creates large abstract florals, and colorful radial designs with pen and watercolors. Using these mediums she creates tropical themes vibrant with color and her unique designs. Her use of colored pencil is truly amazing and a must for all to see. Kathy has refined a technique of oil and acrylic painting both with pallet knife and brush on oriented strand board and glazed tile making for some of her most unique pieces of artwork. Kathy has her studio in Rancho Viejo, TX where she resides full time. She is a Member of the Laguna Madre Art Gallery and the Harlingen Art Forum where her artwork is on full time display. Kathy also takes requests for commission artwork.
