January 6,2020 - Watercolor Workshop

January 13, 2020 –Drawing with a Grid - Learn to use a grid.

Materials – All materials are provided - each person needs to bring a photo or image that they want to use for the gridding.
$30.00 /person
Anyone can draw if they are given the right tools. Using a grid, students will be able to render from their own photographs an accurate drawing.This class will use a viewfinder created by the instructor to help the students focus on individual squares on the grid to enhance
accuracy.
January 20, 2020 –Printmaking Technique and Uses

All materials are provided.
Using handmade and other specialized papers participants will explore printmaking. Carving blocks or plates of modern materials participants will create notecards, art pieces or other forms of the prints art. Participants will use a century old letterpress as well as modern press options.
February 3, 2020-Viking Knit Bracelet

Each participant will be creating a bracelet using the ancient process of Viking knit to produce a rope like chain out of 224 guage silver plate wire. We will produce our own focal bead using polymer clay. We will learn several jewelry processes to produce our own findings( pieces needed to connect jewelry components). All jewelry tools will be provided, if you have your own round nose plyers, it would be helpful but not necessary( it eliminates having to share). No experience is necessary.
February 10, 2020-Liquid Acrylic Pour Class

Materials are provided. Please wear old clothes. This can be very messy.
Participants will learn 4 types of acyrlic pour techniques. Three will be on canvas and one on masonite, a wood product. No experience necessary.
February 17, 2020-Paint a lighthouse or Tropical Fish with Acrylic Pain

Please bring a background to paint on - acrylic pour from the week before workshop would be perfect for this workshop. If you have acrylic paints and brushes you would like to use, please bring that. I have paint and brushes that I will provide, also. If you need a canvas can provide a canvas at a fee of $5.00. Some easels are available, bring your own if you have one.
As the artist creating this painting, you can have a choice of painting the Port Isabel Lighthouse or painting various tropical fish. All drawing materials will be provided. This is always a challenging but rewarding workshop.
February 24, 2020-Creative Stained Glass Panel Workshop

Fee-$45.00 All materials are provided.
Participants will create a small mosaic panel of the lighthouse and palm trees. Other designs may be discussed with the artist but simple is best.
March 2, 2020 - Quilted Fabric Landscape Wall Hanging

Fee - $40.00 All materials are provided.
Think painting with fabric. Each participant will be creating a unique hand sewn landscape using hand dyed fabrics and thread.
Embellishing of landscapes is encouraged. All landscapes are hand pieced and sewn. No sewing experience is necessary. If you have fabric scissors, you are encouraged to bring them so you do not have to share.

Using a dirty pour technique, students will manipulate the pour by using different techniques and materials to shape the flowers. Additional painting will be done with a variety of tools.
March 16, 2020 - Acrylic Painting Basics - Painting a Landscape

Create a colorful landscape,displaying foreground, middle ground and background in your painted landscape. If you have your own acrylic paints, brushes, easel, please bring them. Artist will have extra available if needed.
March 23, 2020 - Spring is Here! Create a Butterfly using acrylic pour technique.

Using a dirty pour technique, create a butterfly. The fun is in watching the butterfly evolve from the west paint. A variety of tools will be used to outline and create the butterfly.
