Mary Wallace Green

Mary Wallace Green

Mary Wallace-Green, born in Houston, studied art at a young age beginning with the children's art program at the Houston Museum of Fine Art. Following a BFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin, she did post-graduate work in photography and painting at Instituto Allende in San Miguel, Mexico.

Mary taught film and digital photography to deaf students at Texas School for the Deaf while creating art and running a free-lance photography business in her free time.

She paints in oils usually on large scale canvases, rendering everyday objects in a representational, hyper-realistic way.

For the past few months, Mary's work has shifted to abstractions and color theory. She divides her time between Port Isabel and Austin.
